California Citrus Mutual is on the board of the Ag Energy Consumers Association (AECA), a not-for-profit advocacy organization dedicated to California energy issues.  AECA serves as a voice for packing houses and growers to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) seeking fair and reasonable energy rates and policies.  Since 1991 AECA has engaged in General Rate Case proceedings with Southern California Edison (SCE) and PG&E, saving agriculture customers over $1 billion.  This year, AECA achieved significant wins for agriculture in the recently settled General Rate Cases with both utilities.

AECA is highly specialized in energy issues and their expertise in energy issues has been incredibly valuable at both at the CPUC and in legislative advocacy.  CCM encourages all Ag energy users – growers and packers – to support AECA.
