This week the Fresno County Ag Commissioner, Les Wright, announced his retirement in a statement that read:

“It truly has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Fresno County for the last nine years. For the past five years, I have been proud to serve as Agricultural Commissioner and Sealer of Weights and Measures. Nevertheless, no career, no matter how rewarding, lasts forever and I have decided that the time has come for me to retire. I plan to leave County service on January 27, 2019.

My career has taken me too many locations in the state, but Fresno County ranks at the top of great places to be. The agricultural industry has welcomed me and made me feel at home. This has allowed me to direct the Department to best serve you, despite what happens in the Sacramento and beyond. The trust and support given me over the years is one of the reasons that makes this decision hard. I will truly miss the people.”
