A couple of years ago, Citrus Mutual embarked on a campaign to educate policy-makers and regulators about the benefits of the California citrus industry to our economy, environment, and health of consumers in a new and exciting way through the use of digital media. The Citrus Strong brand was born and has quickly generated excitement in Sacramento due in large part to an annual event at the Capitol that CCM will once again host on April 19th.
The Citrus Stride is a one-mile walk around the State Capitol that legislators, regulators, and staff are invited to participate in. For every person who registers, Citrus Strong has pledged a donation of 1,000 pounds of citrus to California food banks! Last year, we raised over 300,000 pounds and with your help, we hope to donate even more this year!
We ask that you please consider supporting the Citrus Stride in one or more of the following ways:
Participate at the Event!
New to the event this year is the Citrus Stride Farmer’s Market! We invite you to participate as a vendor at the Farmer’s Market at NO COST TO YOU! This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your brand to hundreds of citrus consumers. More importantly, your participation ties your brand to the positive sentiment created by Citrus Strong and the Citrus Stride in our State’s Capitol. Our only ask is that you offer a tasting or giveaway to participants.
Pledge a Donation to the Food Banks!
Our commitment to providing 1,000 pounds of citrus to foods banks depends upon the generosity of shippers like you. Pledge a donation to the Community Food Banks for every walker who registers, or a flat donation of any amount. We will work with you and our partners at the Community Food Bank to coordinate the logistics.

Donate Fruit to the Event!
What would the Citrus Stride be without citrus?! If you are unable to participate with a booth at the Citrus Stride Farmer’s Market, consider donating fruit to the event and we’ll hand it out to our hungry walkers!
We look forward to another successful Citrus Stride and hope you consider participating in this unique and memorable experience.
Please feel free to contact CCM Director of Public Affairs Alyssa Houtby at (559) 592-3790 if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your support!
