In the wake of the governor signing AB2646, we want to share resources to help ag employers navigate these changes. The new law raises California’s minimum hourly wage to $19.75 for certain agricultural workers, effective January 1, 2027. The wage increase applies to temporary and seasonal agricultural workers hired from outside California, including H-2A workers, and to California employees performing the same or substantially similar work for the same employer in the same county. In response, our labor law consultant, Fisher Phillips, has put together key takeaways and the steps you should take now to prepare your operations as well as a slide deck from their webinar earlier this week.
As a reminder, all CCM members are entitled to one hour of free labor consultation with a Fisher Phillips attorney as part of our partnership with the firm. Please contact Diego Cruz at diego@cacitrusmutual if you wish to schedule a meeting.
