USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has issued a Section 32 solicitation for the purchase of $25 million in fresh mandarins and tangerines. This purchase will support citrus growers by reducing available inventory during surplus periods, strengthening market conditions, and distributing healthy food to communities in need.
While the Section 32 program benefits growers nationwide, California is expected to see significant benefits as the nation’s leading producer of fresh mandarins. CCM advocated for these purchases to help ensure fresh citrus remained a priority within the program.
