California citrus growers now have an additional tool to help manage pre-harvest fruit drop. Citrus Fix has received a California FIFRA Section 24(c) Special Local Need label (CA-260001) for use on navel oranges, tangelos, Minneolas and other citrus hybrids, as well as tangerines and mandarins.
The label allows fall applications from September through November using air blast sprayers or other suitable ground spray equipment. Depending on the citrus type and application program, growers may make up to two applications, with specific rates and maximum seasonal amounts outlined on the label.
Growers and applicators should review the full label before use. The 24(c) label must be in the applicator’s possession at the time of application, and all directions, restrictions and precautions on both the Special Local Need label and EPA-registered label must be followed.
