Submit Comments Opposing DPR’s Proposed Pesticide Enforcement Regulations by July 28

California Citrus Mutual is asking all citrus growers and members to take a few minutes to submit comments to the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) opposing its proposed pesticide enforcement response regulations.

Why Comment:

These proposed regulations would require more rigid enforcement responses to pesticide violations and reduce County Agricultural Commissioners’ ability to evaluate each situation on its individual merits. CCM believes these changes could penalize growers acting in good faith while creating unnecessary burdens without improving the current enforcement system.

The deadline to submit comments is Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

To make participation as easy as possible, we have attached a draft comment letter for you to use as a template. To submit comments:

  • DOWNLOAD THE TEMPLATE LETTER HERE and insert your name, ranch/company name, and location. Feel free to personalize the letter with your own experiences or concerns if you wish.
  • Submit your comments to DPR by one of the following methods:
    • Copy and paste your completed letter directly into DPR’s online SmartComment Portal.
    • Email your completed letter to dpr26002@cdpr.ca.gov.
    • Mail (must be postmarked by July 28, 2026) the letter to DPR care of: Lauren Otani, Regulations Coordinator, Department of Pesticide Regulation, 1001 I Street, P.O. Box 40156, Sacramento, California 95812-4015
  • Additionally, oral or written comments may be submitted during one of three virtual public hearings, which will take place on July 8, 21, and 28. For times and Zoom details, CLICK HERE.

Every comment matters. Hearing directly from growers who will be affected by these regulations helps demonstrate the real-world impacts these proposals could have on California agriculture. Thank you for taking the time to make your voice heard and for your continued support of California Citrus Mutual’s advocacy efforts.
