USDA Reopens Acreage Reporting Period for Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers Program

The USDA Farm Service Agency has reopened the 2025 acreage reporting period for specialty crop producers applying to the Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers (ASCF) program, extending the deadline to April 24, 2026. The ASCF program, announced by Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on February 13, aims to support producers facing market disruptions, rising input costs, inflation, and unfair foreign competition.

FSA officials say the extension responds to requests from growers and policymakers, ensuring all eligible producers have a fair opportunity to participate and helping the agency collect accurate data to guide program decisions.

ASCF payments will be based on reported 2025 planted acres, and producers must submit accurate acreage reports by April 24, 2026. Payment rates will be announced after the deadline.

Producers are encouraged to create a Login.gov account before the application period to streamline the process, though assistance will also be available at local FSA offices.
