Last week, Water Blueprint for the San Joaquin Valley member organizations joined a broad, statewide coalition in submitting a letter to the State Water Resources Control Board and the Department of Fish and Wildlife supporting Action 5, the newly adopted long-term operations plan for the Central Valley Project and State Water Project.
Reliable water supplies are vital for California’s farms, communities, ecosystems, and disadvantaged populations, while easing pressure on groundwater basins. Action 5 advances a balanced, bipartisan approach to modernizing water operations that is grounded in science, real-time data, and adaptive management.
This updated framework improves both environmental stewardship and water reliability, particularly for the San Joaquin Valley, and represents a responsible step forward for California’s water future.
