The Department of Labor (DOL) will temporarily suspend collection of H-2A labor certification fees as the agency moves to transition to an electronic payment system. This action stems from President Trump’s executive order to shift all payment systems used by government agencies to more accessible electronic payment methods. Effective July 31, this action will appear in the Federal Register titled “Temporary Suspension of H-2A Certification Fees” (Document Number: 2025-14510).
The DOL has not stated how long this action will take but cites its support for agricultural employers burdened by increasing costs. This suspension will officially be implemented 30 days following its posting in the Federal Register. To view the DOL’s announcement, please click here.
