The Trump Administration has extended its internal deadline to impose reciprocal tariffs to August 1, 2025. The initial deadline was July 9, 2025. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick assures that pushing the deadline from July to August is to provide more time for upcoming negotiations with various countries.
President Trump has issued letters to the countries listed below, which will see reciprocal tariffs scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2025. In each letter, Trump states that “if for any reason you decide to raise your Tariffs, then, whatever the number you choose to raise them by, will be added onto the percentage that we charge.” Of the countries listed below, California exports the most citrus to South Korea. We will continue to watch for any retaliatory tariffs following the August 1 deadline and keep the industry updated.
