CCM is pleased to announce the restoration of funding for the Emergency Citrus Disease Research & Extension (ECDRE) program. This mandatory funding, approximately $25 million per year, will now remain available until 2031. This critical investment will protect and preserve the U.S. citrus industry from the devastating impacts of Huanglongbing. This was made possible by the passage of H.R. 1, which seeks to provide tax relief and rein in federal spending.
CCM applauds this re-appropriation and extends its appreciation to House Ag Chairman G.T. Thompson, Senate Ag Chairman John Boozman, and their staff for investing in the security of the American citrus industry and the resources needed to put healthy, fresh, and local produce in American households. A special thank you also to our State delegations in California, Texas and Florida for their support of this effort.
