Last week, CCM President/CEO Casey Creamer and Director of Governmental Affairs Jacob Villagomez attended the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Washington, D.C. Conference. This conference focuses on advocacy for the fresh produce industry, bringing together industry professionals to lobby members of Congress on key priorities, including labor, nutrition, trade, the Farm Bill, tax policy, and food safety.
During their time in D.C., Creamer and Villagomez engaged with the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance (SCFBA) to strategize on the next phases in advocacy for MASC, a new Farm Bill, and the priorities proposed by the federal budget reconciliation efforts being taken up in both the House and Senate. Separately, CCM had the opportunity to engage with the new staff members at the United States Department of Food & Agriculture, as well as staff from the United States Trade Representative (USTR) office.
