Over the weekend, the Trump Administration reached an agreement with the Chinese government on trade following a meeting in Geneva. The deal will feature a 90-day pause and lower reciprocal tariffs by 115%. Effective by this Wednesday, Chinese goods will be subject to a minimum 30% tariff rate while U.S. goods will be given a 10% tariff rate.
These tariffs are not the total tariffs for citrus entering China that have been in place since the Phase One Trade agreement. The administration considers this a step forward before reaching a final agreement on commerce and trade with China. The temporary reduction will expire on August 10, 2025.
