Chilean Citrus Committee Forecasts Export Growth for 2025

The Chilean Citrus Fruit Committee released projections for the 2025 citrus export season earlier this week. In the announcement, they predicted an 11% increase in citrus exports for the 2025 season, reaching approximately 444,000 metric tons. This growth is led by mandarins (+32%), clementines (+25%), and lemons (+6%), supported by favorable winter and spring weather. Orange exports, however, are expected to decline by 18%, mainly due to reduced volumes of the Fukumoto variety.

Promotional efforts will focus on boosting consumption in key markets, including the U.S. and Japan. In the U.S., campaigns will target retailers and consumers with point-of-sale promotions and social media outreach. In Japan, a lemon-focused campaign will include a workshop at Expo Osaka, highlighting Chilean lemons’ quality, availability, sustainability, and health benefits.
