Following multiple inquiries about the maturity standard, CCM felt that a field day was necessary for the upcoming season so that growers, CDFA, and the counties could work together to ensure consistency across the industry. In response, an Orange Maturity Field Day has been set for Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 9 a.m. at the Kern County Agricultural Commissioner’s office.
During the event, attendees will participate in interactive training and be able to ask questions. If you have specific fruit from blocks you’d like checked, you can bring fruit samples to review with the Kern County inspectors and CDFA.
