The CCM Scholarship Committee has selected three outstanding students as the recipients of our 2024 scholarships, which are awarded each year to students pursuing an education or vocation in agriculture. We would like to congratulate Laird Pidduck, Liliana Ramos, and Lauren McEwen and wish them the best of luck as they work to further their education in agriculture. Each of these students demonstrated outstanding academic, leadership, and extracurricular achievements, and we are confident that they will one day serve as exceptional contributors to the agriculture industry.

High School Scholarship
The High School Scholarship was awarded to Laird Pidduck. Laird comes from a long lineage of farmers and ranchers in the Ventura area. He plans to attend Colorado State University and become a valuable member of the farming and ranching community like his family. He hopes to one day own and manage his own cattle operation.

Harrison B. Smith Scholarship
Liliana Ramos is the recipient of the Harrison B. Smith Scholarship. Upon completing her Plant Science degree from Cal Poly, she plans to obtain her PCA license and look for a job in which she can work closely with farmers, potentially as an agronomist or PCA. Liliana hopes to one day contribute to promoting global food security and sustainable agriculture education.

Charles Coggins Scholarship
Lauren McEwen was awarded the Charles Coggins Scholarship. She is currently a student at Cal Poly pursuing a degree in agriculture communications. Lauren comes from a citrus farming family in the Central Valley and hopes to one day use her journalism skills to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers through her writing.
