Environmental Protection Agency Webinar on Mitigation Menu Website

Next Tuesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. PST, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting an educational webinar about implementing Endangered Species Act (ESA) mitigations using an EPA-hosted website instead of including them on each label. We encourage growers to attend to learn about the EPA’s mitigation plans and how to comply with ESA requirements.

Specific webinar topics will include:

  • Background on the goal and development of the mitigation menu.
  • How to follow new label directions using the website.
  • How to navigate the website.
  • Other resources associated with the website.
  • Q&A session and feedback on the proposed function of the menu, the website, and the use of the website for ESA strategies and additional types of mitigation (e.g., spray drift).

Our industry partners, The California Citrus Quality Council (CCQC,) have submitted substantive comments to EPA over the last year highlighting the lack of reasonable mitigation options for tree fruit growers and the cost of the mitigations.
