Biden Administration Seeks Chinese Tariff

United States Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced pending actions against the People’s Republic of China for unfair trade practices. The actions would raise tariffs on various Chinese goods, including electric vehicles, batteries, and battery parts, and now include critical medical and mineral materials.

The announcement raised multiple concerns from journalists, citing retaliatory tariffs placed on U.S. goods during the Trump Administration, which put significant hurdles on U.S. citrus imports.
