Earlier this week, California Citrus Mutual (CCM), California Fresh Fruit Association, Tulare & Kern County Farm Bureaus partnered to host Assemblymember Vince Fong of Bakersfield and Assemblymember David Alvarez of San Diego County as well as their staff for a tour of Central Valley agriculture. The tour featured various commodity groups along with Exeter Ivanhoe Citrus in Exeter, California as well as Gless Ranch and Wonderful Halos Packing in Kern County.
The purpose of the tour was to display the various agricultural activities of the region and is a part of Assemblymember Fong’s commitment to educating his peers in the Legislature about the daily challenges of providing food from the farm to fork. CCM is committed to showcasing the industry to our Legislators whenever possible and is a component to our community relations strategy. We’d like to personally thank both Assemblymembers Fong and Alvarez and their respective staff for their visit. We would also like to extend our gratitude to our gracious hosts Mike Hulsey of Exeter Ivanhoe Citrus, John Gless of Gless Ranch and Melissa Frank of The Wonderful Company.
