The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently released a revised version of the Form I-9 which is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the U.S. All employers must properly complete Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment. This includes citizens and noncitizens. Employers may continue to use the current Form I-9 until October 31, 2023, however starting on November 1, 2023, all employers must use the new Form I-9.
