The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) voted 23-2 to remove Howard Terminal’s designation as a port priority use area. The reason for the amendment is to pave way for a proposed development of a new baseball stadium along with retail and housing units.
The removal of the seaport priority-use conflicts with the critical staging area supported by USDA and offsets efforts to alleviate shippers affected by the supply chain crisis. On behalf of the industry, CCM formally opposed the amendment to the priority-use designation at the Port due to the ongoing supply chain issues.
