The USDA National Agriculture Statistics Survey has released its annual Citrus Fruits Summary report for the 2020-21 season. California accounted for 60% of total U.S. citrus production and almost 90% of total fresh production. Utilized citrus production in California was down just 3%, compared to 12% nationwide. Orange production (all varieties) was down 7%, grapefruit was down 17%, and lemons were down $16%. Mandarin production was up 25%. Total production value of all U.S. citrus in 2020-21 was up 4.4% over 2019-20.
