Leading agriculture communication firm seeks motivated sales associate to cover California and adjoining Western States. Competitive pay, health insurance benefits, 401K match and paid travel expenses. Position includes calling on large, medium and small accounts engaged in food and agriculture production, processing, and retail who are impacted by policy decisions in Washington, DC and Sacramento, CA.
Primary Sales Responsibilities:
- Report to the Sales & Marketing Manager located in Camdenton, MO
- Achieve assigned targets; advertising sales, subscriptions sales and event sponsorships.
- Develop and implement sales plans, manage forecasting and inventory management, follow business direction and coordinate follow-up with prospects/clients
- Report all sales activity in Matrix CRM Sales Intelligence Platform
- Manage a Free Trial Offer Program
- Follow set strategies for achieving business objectives for key accounts in the assigned area
- Effectively manage expenses, discretionary dollars per Agri-Pulse travel policy
- Show initiative in developing selling skills and product / portfolio knowledge
- Work with Sacramento editor to help build awareness and positive brand recognition for Agri-Pulse West and other Agri-Pulse products
- Attend industry events and network with major CA Ag organizations either in person or virtually
- Enhance Western States database of key prospects
- Travel approximately 50% of time
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three year of experience in sales, marketing, account management.
- Background in agriculture production or food processing and distribution
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written)
- Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness and ability to drive results
- Strong business acumen, account planning, influencing and critical thinking skills
- Financial, time and territory management proficiency
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions
- Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork
