To renew, individuals with last names and businesses with names starting with letters M-Z must meet the minimum requirements and submit their renewal application and payment to DPR on or before December 31, 2019. Your application packet must be postmarked on or before December 31 to avoid late fees.
Out of 11,522 renewal packets mailed to individual license or certificate holders in July 2019, 6,799 (59.1%) have been returned to DPR for processing. 6,581 have been renewed (97% of those submitted). We still have 41% of renewals coming in within the next 2 weeks, so if you have not already submitted your renewal application, we strongly urge you to do so as soon as possible. The current processing time is 4 weeks, but this timeframe will likely increase as we approach the December 31 deadline.
If you are not sure if your renewal has been received, please check with your financial institution to see if your payment has been processed. If payment has been processed, you can expect to have your new card within 8 weeks.
Tips and Reminders!
For those needing CE, DPR-approved CE hours must be obtained during the valid period listed on your card. To determine the valid period, refer to the “Date of Issue” and “Valid Through” dates on your card. Any CE hours obtained after your license or certificate expires will not be valid and you will be required to retest as a new applicant.
Ensure your CE hours are correct and that all are accounted for. To determine the amount of CE hours required you may review the ‘Continuing Education Hours Chart’ on our web page: https://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/license/cerequire.pdf. Excess CE hours obtained in “Pesticide Laws and Regulations” can be used towards “Other CE”.
If you are missing CE certificates or have questions about your CE hours, contact the course sponsor of the course you attended. Contact information can be found on the approved CE course page: https://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/license/cont_ed_cfm/classes.htm
To avoid processing delays, please double check to ensure your application is correct. Your application must include the following:
o Signature and date
o Appropriate payment
o Proof of CE hours (if applicable)
o Proof of insurance (for businesses)
