California Citrus Mutual received an update from APHIS that the samples they took from the ACP/HLB finds in Tijuana a few months ago were found to be HLB positive. On October 18, APHIS IS with the Baja California Department of Agriculture removed and burned the tree on site. The positive detection came from samples at the root of the tree.
Moving forward, CCFA is providing an additional 9,000 Tamarixia for release per week between September and December to help protect United States citrus. This is in addition to the 3,000 – 4,000 already release per week around the Mexico border.
