Submit your DPR License or Certificate Renewals by November 1st!

Please submit DPR License or Certificate renewals by November 1!

For those of you who need to renew your license (DPR certificate or license) this year (business names or individual surnames that begin with letters M-Z), this is the last reminder to submit your renewal early.

Keep in mind that the processing time for renewals can take up to 60 days. Therefore, in order to ensure that you receive your new license and may continue working after the first of the year, DPR highly recommends submitting your renewal by November 1.

There are many advantages and benefits to submitting your renewal by November 1:

  • You may have time to fix errors that DPR finds (e.g. lacking CE hours) before your license expires and results in having to retest
  • You will have your renewed license in hand and may continue working legally and can attend CE courses starting January 1
  • You will be able to register with the County quicker
  • No late fees will be incurred

Last year, individuals who renewed early (September through November 1) experienced a processing time of about 3-4 weeks and received their card before the first of the year.  However, those who submitted their renewal applications later in the year (December through January) encountered a longer processing time due to the high volume of incoming renewals. Many December submitters did not receive their new card until well into February.

The important takeaway message is: RENEW EARLY to receive your new license early!
