State Water Resources Control Board Voted to Approve CV-SALTS

On Wednesday, October 17, 2019, the State Water Resources Control Board voted to approve the Central Valley Salinity Alternatives for Long-Term Sustainability, otherwise known as CV-SALTS.  Approval of the plan was conditioned upon several revisions.  The most notable of these revisions accelerated the timeline to achieve the goal of reducing salts and nitrates in groundwater basins and surface water from 45 to 35 years.  The approval of CV-SALTS comes after more than 13 years of development is the culmination of hard work, compromise, and dedication to improving water quality in the Central Valley.
