Residential Tree Removal Program Kicks off in Westminster

California Citrus Mutual held a meeting on June 1st with homeowners in the city of Westminster. Staff utilized this opportunity to share information about the importance of proper care for backyard citrus trees with respect to preventing HLB. CCM utilized postcards, door hangers, and radio ads for the advertisement of the free voluntary citrus tree removal program.

During this public outreach, CCM was joined by Assembly Member Tyler Diep who represents the Orange County area.

Staff also worked alongside master gardeners and representatives of the Orange County Agriculture Commissioners office.

Immediately following the meeting, 19 homeowners signed up to have their citrus trees – 29 trees in total – removed at no cost.
