SWEEP Funds Available – Deadline is March 8th

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is awarding water efficiency grants, and there is a particular focus on prioritizing grants to disadvantaged communities and this could include any farm in a (DAC) or one that employs workers from a nearby disadvantaged community.

Farm Bureau is a technical aid provider and can provide you with assistance in putting your application together.  A free technical expert can meet with you and go over the process and assist you with putting together the application.

The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) provides financial assistance in the form of grants to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations. Eligible system components include (among others) soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low-pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy.
