Join us on March 2, 2017 at the Visalia Convention Center for the largest citrus specific conference and trade show in California! CCM’s Annual Citrus Showcase features multiple educational workshops, a trade show of over 100 exhibitors, and a popular luncheon program. Click here to see the 2017 Citrus Showcase Program Flyer.

The theme of this year’s Citrus Showcase is “Bringing the citrus industry together”.  A united industry will overcome the challenges ahead.  It is CCM’s mission to be the unifying body and a leader against oppressive regulations that reduce growers’ bottom lines.

2017 is a year of “new.”  A new Administration, new regulations, new challenges, and hopefully new opportunities.   We’ll dig into all these issues at the Citrus Showcase with what we promise will be an educational experience growers cannot afford to miss.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the first workshop begins at 8:00 a.m.  There is no cost to attend the Showcase.  Lunch tickets can be purchased for $30 per person by contacting California Citrus Mutual at (559) 592-3790. Reserved tables of 8 and 10 are available.

Blackout BINGO

For the first time ever, we will be giving attendees the chance to win cash and prizes simply by visiting the exhibit booths! Be sure to grab your Showcase BINGO sheet at the event or print yours at home to bring. Each designated booth will have a unique way to mark your BINGO sheet, and once you fill your entire sheet, you will be entered into the drawing to win $100 cash. The second place winner of the Blackout BINGO drawing will win a gift basket donated by Visalia Rawhide and the third and fourth place winners will receive a gift bag filled with CCM accessories. This is a great way to win free money and prizes while taking advantage of the wonderful networking opportunity the tradeshow presents for the industry.

PAC Raffle Drawing

This year you will have three chances to win a raffle prize! The first raffle item is an extremely popular, easily concealed Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun. The lightweight, narrow grip makes it ideal for both women and men.

The second raffle item is the CZ-USA 12guage over/under shotgun which is perfect for your skeet shooting contests and hunting trips.

The third raffle prize will excite the gun owner wanting to sharpen their skills, the novice who needs to build confidence, and even the daredevil looking for a thrill. Your winning ticket will provide a 2 or 4-day course of your choice at the elite Front Sight Firearms Trainings Institute in Nevada! Choose between a defensive handgun course, a tactical shotgun course, an uzi submachine course, and a practical rifle course. All of this up to a $2,000 value can be yours just by entering into this year’s Showcase raffle!

Tickets are available for $50 by calling California Citrus Mutual at (559) 592-3790 or by filling out our form online. All proceeds will go to the CCM Political Action Committee Fund.

Exciting Live Demonstration

Shippers and growers concerned about the limited number of options for treating and moving citrus from one ACP Quarantine area to another will be interested in the promising data that will be presented during the afternoon workshop at the CCM Citrus Showcase.

Spencer Walse, USDA ARS, has been administering trials treating fruit for ACP in bins on the truck and has been seeing very positive results.  This work could result in a practical, in-field treatment to kill ACP in bins on the truck before the truck leaves the field.

Spencer will be reporting on the results of these trials and there will be a display set up outside the exhibit hall for a mock demonstration showing how this application could be done.

Luncheon Program & Tickets – Limited Space Available

This year’s luncheon program will feature a panelist of CEOs from some of the industry’s largest marketing firms. BeeSweet President Jim Marderosian, The Wonderful Company CEO David Krause, Sunkist President Russ Hanlin, and Sun Pacific CEO Berne Evans will be on the dais discussing dynamics affecting per-acre revenues.  CCM President Joel Nelsen will serve as panel moderator and has promised the foursome no “gotcha questions,” but the conversation will certainly focus on specific topics relative to California citrus in the global marketplace. Some of the topics will include:

  • Can they create revenue for growers sufficient enough to cover the massive increase in government imposed costs?
  • Is there a future for the family farmer in their organization, or is consolidation the future?
  • What can shippers and marketers do to reduce costs?
  • Why are they acquiescing to the plethora of audits?
  • Can navel oranges and mandarin varieties co-exist in the market place?
  • How will Argentine lemon imports affect lemon producers?
  • Is California citrus sustaining the shelf space it held five years ago at retail?

Luncheon tickets are $30 and can be purchased by contacting California Citrus Mutual at (559) 592-3790. Tables of 8 and 10 are available.

The Citrus Showcase is brought to you by California Citrus Mutual with support from:  2,4-D Research Task Force, Accu-Label, BASF, Crop Science a Division of Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, Farm Credit, Fruit Growers Supply, PACE International, Sinclair Systems, Syngenta, and Valent.
